Classroom: SapitosBlog Theme: Let´s CelebrateWeekly Theme: Traditions & Festivities around the WorldWeek: November 25th, 2019 to November 29th, 2019
What are we learning?
Dear Parents,
We hope you have a wonderful week. Our Thanksgiving
celebration is taking place this week and we will be starting a new topic
“Let’s celebrate.” Children will explore several Holiday traditions and they
will learn about how every people celebrate the holidays.
Holiday celebrations
can be wonderful opportunities for children to learn about the traditions and
values that are cherished parts of people's lives. Children will experience
diverse traditions that are celebrated not only by families and communities but
also by people around the world. They will also discover decorative art that
used around the world and welcome winter by taking part in winter activities.
Children will be
encouraged to share feelings and information about the holidays they celebrate.
This will help them make the distinction between learning about another
person's holiday rituals and celebrating one's own holidays. They will learn
how people celebrate these holidays, what ornaments are associated with each
specific holiday and how to respect and value cultural diversity.
Through practical actions, we keep enlightening kids
about the significance of holiday traditions. We have scheduled exciting activities
related to this theme so children can continue learning through fun
experiences. Each one of these activities will help to continue strengthening
gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills. Below you can

Year-Round
Activities
Student of the Week &
Traveling Pet
Please make sure to
sign up your child for these beautiful activities as these 2 are the children's
favorites! These activities allow every child to create and share memories with
their classmates. Student of the week will run from January to May and
Traveling Pet from January to the end of the School Year.
As you know, every
week, a child is given a set week that he/she is the student of the week. On
Monday of their week, the student of the week should bring a poster and a book
created with family pictures, favorite books, sports, hobbies, animals and
other interests. Parents will pick a day to present a banner to the classroom.
The student of the week may also bring favorite toys and books to school so
they can share it with classmates.
As for the Traveling
Pet activity, the classroom pet will spend a whole week with the child and
family. During that week, parents and the child will have fun together with a
new member of the family while providing love and care to the pet. Our pet
loves to read at night, go to the park, visit museums, give hugs and kisses!
However, the pet does not like taking a bath as he can get sick. Parents and
children will enjoy bonding time and making new memories, and the child will be
very excited to share all the memories with his/her classmates. In their week,
parents and the child should bring a collage of pictures and a written paper
containing a brief description of what they did with the pet. Parents should
make sure to place the collage inside the traveling pet bag.
Sign up for both
activities today! Sign-up sheets are available at the entrance of the
classroom.
